The Friendly Community – SOUL Keeper Scheme
The Friends of Scouting x The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Department of Applied Social Sciences)
The Friends of Scouting strongly believes that the mental health of young people is always related to their overall well-being. Therefore, we have launched The Friendly Community – SOUL Keeper Scheme to promote awareness of mental health. Overall aim of the scheme is to achieve early- identification and intervention as well as to develop effective support to young people.
In order to strengthen professional capacity of social work students or promoting mental health to youth people, The Friends of Scouting cooperates with Department of Applied Social Sciences, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (APSS) to provide SOUL Keeper for the students.
Social work students are trained to understand concept and intervention strategies of SOUL Keeper and learn multimedia tools such as Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) games, SOUL Story Book(心靈互動畫冊) and Picture Books(繪本) as intervention techniques to promote mental health care.
After completing the training, social work students will be eligible to organize professional programmes to boost the mental health and emotional wellbeing of youth people.
The Friends of Scouting looks forward to further cooperate with APSS, in future to enhance social work student competence for enhancing or to the emotional wellbeing of youth people.
